All throughout the first few days of our time in the Azores, we kept commenting that we cant wait to come back (and we even said we wanted to move here!). But now, having left Casas da Chaminé, we realize it was that specific home and area that we feel such a strong connection with. The rest of the island is great, but it truly is Mario’s hospitality that made us fall in love with the Azores.
Everything was perfect. The house is a DREAM. no lie, we pulled up and there was a rainbow hanging over the property. Talk about a good omen…
Each little detail in the house was well though out and executed with love.
Mario warmly welcomed us in and was always available for recommendations or questions regarding the surrounding areas. He even brought over home-made bread for us to have for dinner our first night! We also got to meet his wife Claudia, son Rodrigo, and pet dog Gloria. Each and every one of them made our this trip a memorable one.
We stayed at Casas da Chaminé for a couple of days. This is a great place to spend sometime relaxing and exploring nature, we only wish could have stayed longer.
It rained a lot during out time here so we spend a little more time inside than we planed but this house is so charming so it did not bother us.
